Forward dated to Christmas

Christmas morning, Hikaru will find a neatly wrapped gift waiting for him. Inside is a long cat plush, a cozy sherpa throw blanket and a package of chocolate chip cookies. Alongside a handwritten note.

You struck me as a cat person and I'm really hoping I guessed right on that. Although I guess either way you might think something like this is a little silly as a gift? So I also got you something to keep warm with this winter and a tasty treat. There's plenty if you wanted to share with a friend too. I'm really glad I was given the chance to meet you. And I hope we can continue to spend time together in the new year. Merry Christmas!

While he was there, he took the opportunity to do his Christmas shopping. Since Hikaru is important to Megumi, he made the list. An obnoxiously festive gift bag will be dropped outside Hikaru's door. He gets a keychain of a rabbit with antlers and two bags of salt water taffy labeled Frickly Prickly (prickly pear flavored) and Pterodactyl Ptaffy (breakfast cereal flavored). The flavor decisions of American small gift shop taffy-makers are truly a mystery. ]
